PITTSBURGH (AP) – The Pittsburgh Steelers activated star linebacker TJ Watt from the COVID-19 roster on Saturday, boosting their beleaguered defense ahead of Sunday’s visit to AFC North leader Baltimore.

Pittsburgh placed Watt on the roster on Monday, a day after a 41-10 loss to Cincinnati dropped the Steelers to 5-5-1. He did not train during the week, staying away from team facilities under the league’s COVID-19 protocols.

Watt’s 12 1/2 sacks are second in the league, and his presence should help Pittsburgh in their attempt to keep Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson in check.

While Watt will be available, cornerback Joe Haden will miss his third straight game with a sprained foot. Defensive end Cam Heyward’s status is uncertain after missing training on Friday due to illness, although he was not placed on the COVID-19 list.
